Rainy day ahead for Bay Area

The weekend will get off to a wet start on Saturday with light rain before noon around the Bay Area while heavy snowfall is expected in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Treacherous trek to Tahoe, slick roads and multiple spinouts

The first great snowfall of the season proved to be a beautiful winter wonderland for those lucky enough to stay indoors by the fire. But anyone driving up to the Tahoe area on Saturday faced treacherous driving conditions with multiple spinouts reported up in the Northern California mountains. 

Bay Area skiers flock to Tahoe ahead of big storm

A major snow storm is expected to blanket the Sierra with some much needed snow this weekend. The National Weather Service is warning of the potential for blizzard-like conditions in the mountains much of Saturday, and Caltrans says travel on area roads could be “difficult to impossible."
