How genome sequencing detected the first U.S. omicron variant case in San Francisco

UCSF's Dr. Charles Chiu worked through the night Tuesday to determine if the Bay Area indeed had its first case of COVID's Omicron variant. The technology used employed genomic sequencing, which is faster than state lab capabilities.
