Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf says give school consolidation proposal a chance

The vote on whether to close or merge more than a dozen schools in Oakland is just days away. Parents, educators and students from the schools at risk of closing are ramping up efforts to convince the district to keep classrooms open, including hunger strikes.
