US declares monkeypox outbreak a public health emergency

UCSF infectious disease expert Dr. Peter Chin Hong says the federal declaration of a public health emergency over the monkeypox outbreak will contribute to funding, medications and treatments for the disease as well as data sharing. The vaccine remains in short supply.
