San Francisco Public Library celebrates Banned Book Week
San Francisco librarians are stepping into the intense national debate over banning books. It is "Banned Books Week" across the country and the San Francisco Public Library is hosting a series of programs launching a campaign to raise awareness about the issue, as most of the challenged books were written by or focused on people of color or LGBTQ characters. KTVU's Alex Savidge speaks with Michael Lambert, City Librarian at SFPL about the effort to celebrate the freedom to read.
