San Jose selects location for first safe sleeping site for the homeless in city's history
The city of San Jose has selected a location at 1157 East Taylor Street for it's first safe sleeping site. The sanctioned encampment would have security as well as bathrooms and trash pickup. Some neighbors believe it is a good first step toward cleaning up the nearby parks and creek. Others have concerns that the site is too close to soccer fields where children play.
