Betty Reid Soskin, the famous retired Park Ranger, turns 103 and shares secret talent in new film
Betty Reid Soskin visited her namesake school in El Sobrante Friday, for a 103rd birthday celebration. Students and staff at Betty Reid Soskin Middle School sang "Happy Birthday" to the retired national park ranger. There was a cake, flowers, and balloons, and a special treat. Soskin saw a preview of a new documentary film about her life and her secret talent as a songwriter. She says it was a way to deal with painful times, so the recordings were hidden, even from her family, for decades.
