TikTok says it will go dark Sunday, unless Biden intervenes
US lawmakers and officials have long raised concerns about the national security risks posed by TikTok?s connections to China, which prompted Congress to pass a law with bipartisan support last year. The legislation required TikTok?s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to divest its stake in the app or face being banned from the US market. The law set a deadline of January 19. As of Saturday, there is no sale in sight.
