East Bay rapper wins NPR 'Tiny Desk' contest
East Bay rapper Ruby Ibarra recently received a huge honor winning NPR's famous Tiny Desk contest. The Filipina American, who grew up in San Lorenzo, beat out more than 7,000 artists from across the country in this year's competition. For the contest, she submitted a song in which she collaborated with several other singers and raps in three different languages.
