18-year-old makes 1st court appearance after Castlemont High teacher killed in Oakland chase
The 18-year-old charged with the death of a Castlemont High School teacher during a pursuit through Oakland streets made his first court appearance on Friday in Alameda County Superior Court. Eric Scott Hernandez-Garcia did not enter a plea to felony charges of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run and evading police.
