Bay Area politicians, LGBTQ+ community sees slap in face over renaming of Navy ship

The Bay Area had an angry response after learning the Trump administration plans to re-name the USNS Harvey Milk. The ship was commissioned in 2021 and named after the former San Francisco supervisor who was the first openly gay politician elected to office in Calif. Milk was murdered at City Hall in 1978, along with Mayor George Mascone, by Dan White.
