East Bay congressman says he'll fight to ensure Trump admin. doesn't reopen shuttered FCI Dublin prison for ICE detainees
An East Bay congressman says he'll do whatever is necessary to ensure President Donald Trump's administration doesn't use the shuttered FCI Dublin prison to house ICE detainees. Rep. Mark DeSaulnier, (D) Calif. - 10th Dist., toured the site for about an hour Friday. He told KTVU that he recently met with the head of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons who said there are no plans to recommission the prison. However the congressman conceded the final decision would rest with President Trump, who seems to enjoy engaging in political drama with California lawmakers.
