Pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in East Oakland highlights need for safety improvements at dangerous intersection

Neighbors near the intersection of 82nd Avenue and Bancroft Avenue say they're saddened but not surprised that a pedestrian was killed there by a hit-and-run driver. One 16-year-old said she survived being hit by a vehicle at that same intersection. Residents say safety improvements are long overdue.
