New numbers show improvement in San Jose unhoused residents in shelters vs. on the street

The latest numbers from San Jose's count of the unhoused show a slight uptick, but far more are now in shelters compared to the last count two years ago. The city says this is evidence its policies are working but advocates say encampment sweeps remain dangerous and they have formed a new advocacy group.
