Unoccupied multi-unit residential building catches fire in Oakland Chinatown, scaring neighbors out of their homes
Oakland Fire crews responded to a fire at a multi-unit residential building on 9th and Madison in Chinatown. Fire Department spokesman says the building is unoccupied and that there have been several fires in that same building in recent years. He says one started as a dumpster fire that spread to the building. But at this point, officials have not said what caused this fire. Neighbors tell KTVU that when the fire alarms went off, they saw two people running out of the building that was on fire.
