DOJ joins suit against Prop. 50

The U.S. Justice Department has joined a Republican lawsuit seeking to block the congressional district boundaries approved by California voters just last week under Prop. 50. The U.S. attorney general today called Prop. 50 a "redistricting scheme that tramples civil rights" and that its a power grab. Prop. 50 is in response to redistricting in Texas that would give Republicans an advantage in elections.
