Dog dies in Oakland high-rise fire

A dog died in an Oakland high-rise fire on Tuesday night. Officials say the animal perished from smoke inhalation. The apartment complex was on 3rd Avenue, not far from Lake Merritt. Firefighters managed to get the fire under control.
