Effort underway to honor federal guard killed in Oakland

Officer David Patrick Underwood was a lifelong Pinole resident before he was killed in a drive-by shooting while guarding an Oakland federal courthouse in May. A group wants parts of Fernandez Park to be renovated and renamed after the slain officer in his honor.
