Bay Area mask mandate takes effect
Much of the Bay Area is again under a requirement to wear masks indoors. The rule took effect Tuesday, Aug. 3 in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Sonoma counties while Napa and Solano did not join the regional group. COVID hospitalizations and ICU cases are up, according to officials, thanks to the highly contagious delta variant.
