Trump's new tariffs could impact California's $488-billion import business

President Trump slapped new tariffs on more than 60 countries Friday  ranging from 10% to 12.5%, replacing temporary tariffs that were set to expire after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled his initial tariffs purportedly for national security reasons were unjustified and must be revoked. California imported $488-billion from overseas in 2025 according to the California Chamber of Commerce, with China, Taiwan, Mexico, Vietnam and South Korea having the most goods imported to the Golden State. Experts say the continued tariffs could have a big impact on consumer prices and inflation.
