Actor and director Mario Van Peebles joined his son, Mandela Van Peebles, in studio to showcase Mandela’s short film "Contagious" at the 24th Annual Oakland International Film Festival. The film explores how everyday acts of kindness create lasting connections across cultural and language divides. Mandela reflected on carrying forward the cinematic legacy of his father and late grandfather, Melvin Van Peebles. The festival runs through Saturday in Oakland.
