Jury of 8 sworn in for federal trial pitting Meta against 29 states
A jury of 8 people were selected and sworn on Wednesday for the high-profile Meta trial set to begin on August 18 in the U.S. District Court for Northern California in Oakland. The jury of 5 women and 3 men will be an advisory jury to Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who will rule on two charges: that Meta illegally collected data on child users, and that Meta allegedly designed addictive features in Facebook and Instagram that harmed youth.
