Bay Area ties of "El Mencho," drug cartel leader killed in Mexico
The Mexican military operation that led to the death of cartel leader Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, called "El Mencho," was supported by U.S. intelligence and came after the U.S. had put a $15-million reward for his capture. Reports by the Rolling Stone in 2017 show that Oseguera Cervantes had ties to the Bay Area.
