Red Flag Warning for parts of the Bay Area

Red Flag Warning: An official Red Flag Warning is active from 10:00 PM tonight through 11:00 AM Friday across the North Bay Interior Mountains.  Diablo Winds: A classic weather setup is unleashing a dangerous Diablo Wind event over the ridges. The highest mountain peaks around Mt. Saint Helena have already clocked extreme wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph, and these powerful, bone-dry gusts will mix down to lower altitudes overnight through late Friday morning. Extreme Fuel Dryness: It has not rained in the North Bay since September 4th, meaning mountain vegetation and brush are critically parched and primed for explosive fire growth if an ignition occurs. Abstain from any outdoor activities that could cause a spark. Mountain Nights: A severe thermal belt above 1,000 feet will trap hot air over the hills tonight. While lower valley floors cool off, mountain ridges will suffer from critically poor relative humidity recovery and unseasonably warm overnight lows, offering zero physical relief from the heat. Regional Microclimate Temperature Span Tonight: Immediate Pacific Coast: Mid 50s Bayshore Cities (SF/Oakland): Mid 50s Inland Valleys: 50s - Low 60s Friday (Tomorrow's Daytime Highs): Immediate Pacific Coast: 75° to (Santa Cruz) 85° Bayshore Cities (SF/Oakland): 78° to 88° Inland Valleys & Mountains: 88° to 98° (Hottest- Santa Rosa and Gilroy)
