A high-pressure weather system has brought record-breaking temperatures to the Bay Area. Several cities and counties have opened cooling centers for local residents who need relief from the sweltering weather. 

San Jose

  • The Pittsburg Public Library conference room 80 Power Ave. On Wednesday it will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The rest of the library will be open Thursday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The California Theatre 351 Railroad Ave. Will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday
