1 dead, 1 arrested in crash on Highway 101 in San Jose

At least one person has died and another has been arrested following a multiple-vehicle collision on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near Trimble Road late Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the collision was first reported around 10:45 p.m. Saturday and forced the closure of all of the northbound lanes of the freeway and the connector from northbound state Highway 87 on-ramps to northbound U.S. Highway 101 at one point. All lanes were cleared at 12:39 a.m. today.

One other person was transported to a hospital with a compliant of pain.

No further information on the reason for the arrest was available.
