SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) -- A man was killed and two others were hurt -- one of them critically -- during a shooting Friday in a residential neighborhood of San Francisco's Western Addition, authorities said.

The incident was reported after 11 a.m. at Turk and Scott streets. The identities of the victims were pending but police said one of the men has been pronounced dead and a second male was suffering from life-threatening injuries. A third victim was expected to survive.

When police arrived on the scene, they found two of the men lying in the street and suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the suspect was between 40- and 50 years old although there was little other information about the suspect that has been publicly disclosed.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the gunfire.
