It's been one week and there is still no sign of missing Vallejo 15-year-old Pearl Pinson.

On Tuesday, authorities released an image of a backpack that was similar to the one Pearl was wearing when she was abducted. They are asking anyone who may have found a similar abandoned backpack, to contact police immediately.

Police are also asking the public to take a look at the suspect's vehicle. They are trying to determine more details about his whereabouts before he was killed in a shootout with police.

Pearl was last seen on a pedestrian bridge in Vallejo, on her way to her bus stop last Wednesday. A witness told detectives she was abducted by a man who was later identified as 19-year-old Fernando Castro. The witness said Pearl’s face was bleeding and that Castro had a gun.

An Amber Alert was issued and police located the suspect’s vehicle, a Saturn Castro, in Santa Barbara County.

Castro shot at officers and was killed during a shootout Wednesday. There was no sign of Pearl.

Information on Castro’s cellphone led police to investigate the Jenner area in Sonoma County. After an extensive search of the area, Pearl was not located.

Authorities also searched the area of the Glen Cove coastline in Vallejo, Highway 37 from Vallejo to Sonoma County and the Skaggs Island area.

According to traffic cameras the suspect’s vehicle was seen Wednesday in the area of westbound I-580 and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge at 9:13 a.m., then near Sir Frances Drake Blvd. in Marin County at 9:20 a.m., and southbound 101 at the Golden Gate Bridge at 9:35 a.m.

They are asking anyone with information on this case to call 707-784-1963. Anyone with urgent information is asked to call Solano Dispatch at 707-421-7090 or by dialing 911.
