14 dogs rescued from house fire

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Firefighters saved the lives of a woman and her pets including 14 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 parrots. 

The fire broke out at the woman's home near Sacramento around 3:45 Thursday morning.

The fire started in the garage and spread to the rest of the house.

Firefighters raced in and managed to pull all of the animals to safety.

Tammy Murray says her pets scurried around the house when the fire started and that firefighters went room to room looking for each terrified animal.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
