2 bodies found in Tuolumne County near car linked to Amber Alert

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Two bodies were found in Tuolumne County near a car connected to an Amber Alert issued on Friday, according to KCRA.

The alert was issued around 7 p.m. for Steven Weir, 32, and his 2-year-old son John Weir who were last seen in Merced.

Police said Steven Weir was considered armed and dangerous.

KCRA says a red 2005 Hyundai Elantra they were possibly riding in was found Sunday in a remote area on Clark Ford Road near San Flat Campground. 

Authorities have not identified the two bodies that were discovered. 

The Amber Alert has been deactivated.
