2 dead after shooting at Oakland gas station

OAKLAND (KTVU) -- Police were investigating Wednesday night after a shooting inside an east Oakland gas station left two people dead, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at a gas station at Edes Street and 98th Avenue. Authorities said one person died at the scene and a second victim died after being transported to a local hospital.

It  was not immediately clear what prompted the gunfire. The identities of the victims were pending.

It was not clear if anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
