2 Novato High students charged as adults in deadly attack

Two Novato High students are being charged as adults in a violent attack that left one student dead and another injured.

The two students are both being charged with murder and attempted murder.

The Marin County Sheriff identified the victim who was killed as Edwin Josue Ramirez Guerra, 17, of San Rafael.

Authorities have not yet identified the other victim who survived the attack.

Guerra was found stabbed and shot to death along a hiking trail near the Marin Country Club last Wednesday.

Two suspects were detained in high-risk tactical raids in the city.

Authorities arrested a 20-year-old man as an accessory after the fact on Sunday.

Investigators are looking at the possibility the attack was related to a sexual assault involving two students that happened a week earlier.

Both students could face a sentence of life without parole.
