2 small earthquake rattle in Santa Cruz County
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (BCN) - A pair of earthquake with preliminary magnitudes of 3.0 and 3.1 respectively struck east of Interlaken in southern Santa Cruz County this afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Both quakes were more than 7 miles deep and reported near Arano Canyon, south of Coward Creek.
The first, smaller quake was reported at 3:21 p.m. The second, slightly larger earthquake struck 11 minutes later, just southeast of the first.
