22-year-old killed in San Pablo, police say he was the intended target

SAN PABLO, Calif. (KTVU) - Police San Pablo are searching for the person responsible for fatally shooting a 22-year-old man Tuesday night in what they believe was a targeted attack.

Police were called out to Stanton Avenue near Giant Road at about 9:30 p.m. and found the young man on the street. He had been shot at least once.

Officers tried to save him, but he died before he got to the hospital.

Authorities later identified the victim as Richmond resident, Robel Tadesse. 

At this point, no arrests have been made. Police did not say why they believe the young man was the intended target.
