3 of 4 suspects arrested in elementary school armed robbery

Three of four suspects in an armed robbery that took place at a Fremont elementary school Friday have been arrested, police said.

The fourth suspect, described as a Hispanic female between 18 and 24, is outstanding. She reportedly stands between 5 foot 5 and 5 foot 7 inches, weighs 125 to 135 pounds, has medium-length straight black hair and was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.

Officers responded to the reported robbery at about 12:30 p.m. at Warwick Elementary School. A female victim was robbed at gunpoint of her purse on the northwest side of campus, near Darwin Drive.

A police officer found the suspect vehicle near Stevenson Boulevard and Sundale Drive, shortly before the car crashed at Stevenson Boulevard and Davis Street.

The car's four occupants ran into the surrounding neighborhood, police said. Two were located and arrested.

Walters Junior High was placed on lockdown, and a shelter-in-place was implemented at Brier Elementary School and Kennedy High School.

At about 7:15 p.m., police found and arrested the third suspect, who had been hiding in the residential neighborhood. Search teams continued to look for the outstanding woman until shortly after 8 p.m., police said.
