4 suspects arrested for assault in 49ers parking lot brawl

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KTVU) -- Police in Santa Clara on Friday announced the arrest of four suspects for felony assault in connection with the beating of a Vikings fan after Monday night’s game a Levi’s Stadium.

On Monday, after the 49ers vs. Vikings game ended, an assault occurred outside gate “C” near the parking lot. Santa Clara Police Officers responded to the incident, but upon arrival learned that all parties involved in the incident had dispersed.

A video of the assault surfaced the following morning on social media and the police department assigned detectives to investigate the incident. Detectives worked diligently to review the video and quickly identified two victims.

Detectives eventually identified four suspects from the video.

Late Thursday night, detectives arrested three adult male suspects and a female juvenile suspect.

The suspects are Hollister resident Felix Chavira, 32, who is wearing a number 28 SF 49ers jersey in the video; Hollister resident Juan Arias, 33, who is seen wearing a white jacket in the video); San Jose resident Eric Martinez, 30, who is wearing a number 80 SF 49ers jersey in the video; and 17-year-old female juvenile.

The adult suspects were transported to Santa Clara County Jail and the juvenile was issued a criminal citation and released to her parents.

The 35-year-old victim wearing a Vikings jersey suffered injuries that were non-life threatening. An 18-year-old security officer also suffered injuries that were non-life threatening.
