An 86-year-old woman died Tuesday morning after a fire ripped through her home.

San Mateo Consolidated Fire Deputy Chief Kent Thrasher said there were four to six others in the house and then two  others in a separate unit in the 100 block of South Humboldt Street, which started just before 4:30 a.m.

Thrasher said it will take a while to determine the cause of the fire, adding that it did not appear suspicious.
