About 2,000 without power in San Rafael area
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (BCN) - A cross arm on a PG&E distribution pole broke and knocked out power to 4,364 customers this afternoon in the areas of Novato and San Rafael, PG&E officials said.
The power went out at 2:38 p.m. after the cross arm broke on a pole on the west side of Nave Drive in Novato.
So far, power to 2,327 customers have been restored.
How the cross arm broke is under investigation, PG&E spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said.
Nave Drive is adjacent to U.S. Highway 101 but the lines do not cross the highway so freeway traffic should not be affected, Contreras said.
