Capitola Police are warning residents to pay extra attention when they are taking out money at ATMs.

Authorities released surveillance images of a man who is accused of peering over the shoulders of bank customers, and then trying to withdraw money from their accounts after they left.

Police have termed the man, a "shoulder surfer."

They tell the Santa Cruz Sentinel that he tried to steal money from an ATM at a Bank of America on Capitola Road on April 10.

Investigators say he drove a car that had a dented rear panel, and a paper license plate that read, "Oakland Honda."
