All lanes open after large brush fire shuts down San Jose highway
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - Fire crews battled a large brush fire in San Jose that blew embers on the highway, causing lane closures and significant traffic delays, officials said.
All lanes reopened just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday, after the closure on southbound I-880 just north of Coleman Avenue.
The fire was reported at about 6:20 p.m. just south of North First Street, which is near Mineta San Jose International Airport.
