Americans traveling this holiday season

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) --  If you are driving or flying Thursday, you are urged to be patient.

Bad weather combined with being Christmas Eve, could mean congestion on roads and at airports.

AAA projects more than 100-million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home this holiday season, which would be a record.

While more rain is falling on Christmas Eve, the Bay Area's three major airports report very few delays as of early Thursday morning.

SFO predicts 1.4 million people will pass through the airport this holiday season.Many Americans will drive,

instead of fly. AAA says gasoline prices are expected to drop to a 7 year low, with many parts of the country paying less than $2 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline.
