Another scorcher for the Bay Area, but cool down on the horizon

It's going to be another scorcher in California on Tuesday, though the Nationa Weather Service says that a cooling trend for the remainder of the week begins on Wednesday.

The mercury should rise to 103 in Sacramento, 99 in Santa Rosa and 84 in San Francisco to list some of the peak temperatures throughout the region.

Some Targets had already sold out of fans on Monday, and air conditioning specialists reported they were busier than usual.

To beat the heat, dozens of people had already showed up at Clarke Memorial Swim Center in Walnut Creek early Tuesday morning to get their exercise in for the day.
