Armed suicidal man at Civic Center Plaza surrenders to SFPD ending hours-long standoff

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - 6:30 PM UPDATE: San Francisco Police Officer Carlos Manfredi reports the standoff has ended peacefully.

The San Francisco Police Department is evacuating people from Civic Center Plaza and City Hall due to a man in the area with a handgun.

Police say they do not know his intentions.

Negotiators and tactical units are on the scene.
