Avoid Cherry Street in Newark between Mirabeau and Rochelle due to house fire

NEWARK, Calif, (BCN) - The public is advised to avoid Cherry Street in Newark between Mirabeau Drive and Rochelle Avenue because of a house fire, police said this afternoon.

Cherry Street is closed in the area and is expected to remain closed for at least two hours, police said shortly before 3 p.m.

The house fire is on Anjou Place and has closed Cherry Street, police said.
