BART expanding program that rewards carpool drivers

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - BART is expanding its program that rewards carpool drivers with a coveted parking spot.

Starting tomorrow, commuter who use the Scoop app to carpool will be guaranteed a parking spot at the Concord and Pleasant Hill BART stations.

Drivers put a placard from the app on their dashboard, and then they are allowed to park in the "permit only" area. 

BART police then check with Scoop to see if the drivers carpooled that day. 

The program is already in effect at the San Bruno, Millbrae, and Dublin/Pleasanton stations.
