BART launches rapid response teams for biohazards, includes mobile website support

OAKLAND (BCN) BART has stationed cleaning teams at the MacArthur and Lake Merritt stations in Oakland to address urgent messes on trains.

All five of the BART system's lines go through one of those two stations, BART officials said, which should allow teams to quickly intercept trains and get them cleaned up as quickly as possible once a report comes in.

The "rapid response team" currently has 14 members, but BART plans to hire five more.

They're also launching a new option for reporting biohazards at the transit agency's mobile website, m.bart.gov, starting Monday.

The main menu will feature an option for reporting biohazards, which will initiate an email and text to the appropriate staff members.
