BART recovers from major system-wide delays due to equipment problem

BART reports that it's fixed an equipment problem that created major delays system-wide on Thursday night.

Officials say the Friday morning commute should not be impacted.

Moments before the notice was posted to social media, BART officials said a delay was developing at the Embarcadero station in the East Bay direction.

BART's spokeswoman Alicia Trost said at 8:18 p.m. crews responded to a report of a substation going offline in San Francisco. Eastbound trains leaving San Francisco had to single track between Powell and Embarcadero Stations due to the power outage.

Crews were able to get the substation back online overnight.
