Bay Area native and her family in path of Irma

Lorie Nemitz and her family are among the  20-million people who live in Florida, and like everyone in the state, they have been following every movement of Hurricane Irma.

Nemitz even posted a photo of her son on the sofa, with the caption: "When a category four is coming and there isn't any plywood left, you take apart your bed."

The wood was used to help fortify the windows.

Nemitz is a business manager at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, in the community of Wesley Chapel, just north of Tampa.

On Sunday's Mornings on 2, she spoke by phone, to KTVU's Frank Mallicoat and Claudine Wong.
