Bay Area Scouts honoring fallen service members this Memorial Day Weekend

Hundreds of  Boy, Girl and Cub Scouts are honoring fallen service members this Memorial Day weekend across the United States.

Bay Area events include 600 scouts planting 35 American flags at grave sites in the San Francisco National Cemetery at The Presidio.

The troops say it is a yearly tradition that pays tribute to American heroes, while the children learn about honor, patriotism, and valor.

Some of the scouts talked to KTVU's Sara Zendehnam about what planting the flags meant to them.
