Big names appearing this weekend at the Democratic state convention in San Jose

Some of the nation's most powerful democrats are in the South Bay today, for the California Democratic Convention.

Vice President Job Biden, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi, and US Senator Barbara Boxer are just some of the big name speakers.

The party platform will be decided this weekend.

Since this is a presidential election year, convention goers say there is a lot of enthusiasm, and there is also much at stake.

Topics that will be discussed during the convention, include abortion rights, the push towards having all of the state's electricity come from sustainable sources, and setting a minimum wage that rises with inflation.
